POWERHOUSE TOURS

Guided Tours of the Bull Shoals Dam and Powerhouse are available from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Visit one of the largest concrete dams in the United States. Understand how water is used to make electrical power. See the massive equipment used to produce this important energy resource. Learn about the history of the construction, the environmental and commercial impact of the dam, and the role it plays in providing flood control, hydropower, and recreational opportunities.
TOUR SCHEDULES:
Tuesdays & Thursdays** 1:30pm
Wednesdays & Fridays 10:00 am
Saturdays 10:30am & 1:00 pm
Sundays 11:00am & 1:30pm
Thursday tours may be modified to accommodate physically challenged visitors.
All tours start and end at the Bull Shoals-White River James A. Gaston Visitor Information Center. The State Park will provide van transportation. Tours are limited to 12 visitors. Space availability is on a first come, first served basis. The tour is about an hour long.
All adults must present a photo ID; non-US Citizens must present a valid passport to take the tour. No cameras, cell phones, backpacks, purses, strollers, food or drink are allowed in the van or the dam.
FEES:
$2.50 per adult
$1.50 per child (6-12 years)
No charge for children under 6 years of age.
Each and every child under the age of 10 years must be accompanied by one adult.
These fees are to cover the costs of fuel and maintenance of the van and audio equipment.
