Cutting Edge Week
This week features knife making classes and workshops on using knives in a variety of crafts. It culminates with the BladeSports National Finals Cutting Competition.
May 8 - 12, 2012
Can you imagine wielding a knife that could chop that cutting board in half and then slice neatly through a plastic cup, a ping-pong ball, seven bottles full of water and a piece of rope? Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?
This year we are again proud to host the BladeSports National Championship will be a “points cut” with accrued points being counted towards competing in the World Championship. All contestants for this competition must possess a current BladeSports Cutter Certification, and must attend the Safety Meeting held prior to the competition. To obtain information on how to become certified through BladeSports, please check their website.
A cutting competition of this caliber is a thrilling and exciting thing to watch! Come see as contestants are timed to cut their way through 2 X 4’s, ping pong balls, rope and water bottles and some surprise events.
Viewing the cutting competition is included in the regular Craft Village admission of $10/adult and $6/children (6 – 12) Children under 6 are free.
